Protecting the rivers we exist to restore.

Illegal mining has choked Ghana’s main rivers with sand, mud, and debris, blocking natural flow, destroying aquatic habitats, and driving seasonal flooding. Our environmental mandate is to reverse that damage and keep it reversed.

Lead the $200M Restore Ghana Project, industrial desiltation of the Offin, Pra, and Ankobra.
Stabilize riverbanks with engineering, structural embankments, and grassing to stop erosion.
Recover ecosystems, replant native riparian vegetation and restock aquatic life.

The forests we replant do quiet, measurable work.

Every hectare of riparian forest replanted along the Offin, Pra, and Ankobra holds carbon in trunk, root, and soil. Certified under internationally recognised verification standards, that work becomes tradable carbon credits, and the revenue is ring‑fenced for the long watch: monitoring stations, maintenance dredging, nurseries, and the community teams that keep each restored river restored.

For partners and funders, this converts a restored basin from a philanthropic expense into infrastructure with cash flow, part utility, part carbon sink, part insurance against the floods and shortages that unrestored rivers guarantee.

01 Our sustainability approach +

Sustainability is not a department of the Restore Ghana Project, it is the project. We frame our priorities under three themes, environment, people, and governance, and engage regulators, communities, funders, and traditional authorities to ensure they reflect what matters most to the basins we operate in.

02 Sustainability‑related risks & opportunities +

Leadership oversees the identification and response to principal risks, ecological, climate, security, and social, across every phase, from pilot to permanent maintenance. The same discipline converts risk into opportunity: recovered sand into revenue, replanted forests into carbon credits, restored rivers into working infrastructure.

03 Governance & oversight +

ESG performance is embedded in how the SPV is run. The joint board, state and private, carries clear accountability for delivery, with certified EIAs governing operations and Municipal Assemblies and Traditional Authorities institutionalized as on‑the‑ground monitors.

04 Performance & reporting +

We are committed to transparent reporting across the programme lifecycle, beginning with the published impact report of the River Offin pilot. ESG performance data and project impact reporting are available to partners and investors on request: request our ESG data.
