ACCRA, September 2022, DIHOC DENZEL GHANA LIMITED has completed initial field reconnaissance across galamsey‑affected stretches of the Offin, Pra, and Ankobra river basins.

Joint teams, drawing on both the venture’s security heritage and its marine logistics expertise, documented siltation levels, active and abandoned mining sites, riverbank degradation, and access conditions across the target reaches. The teams engaged local community leaders and traditional authorities at each stage of the reconnaissance.

The findings confirm the scale of the challenge: channels reduced to fractions of their natural depth, extensive bank collapse, and communities coping with water sources that can no longer be treated conventionally. They also confirm the opportunity, priority reaches where restoration can deliver measurable improvements to water treatability and flood resilience within a single operating season.

The reconnaissance data now feeds the venture’s pre‑feasibility studies and the site‑selection process for the planned River Offin pilot.
